HERS Rater training is the middle step to becoming an expert in the field of applied building science. To earn this RESNET certification, the candidate must be able to climb ladders, carry 35 pounds, pass a National Core Competency academic exam, a Combustion Appliance Zone (CAZ) and Workscope academic exam, a graded field evaluation, produce two software energy simulation models, pass a CAZ simulator exam, pass the RESNET Practical Simulation exam, and if you are going to work on ENERGY STAR New Homes verifications- an ENERGY STAR exam. You must also perform 3 probationary ratings under the supervision of a Quality Assurance Designee (QAD), or a Quality Assurance Designee Delegate (QADD).

HERS Rater Training Details
Our HERS Rater training program is conducted over 2 weeks. The class is held Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM.
The training consists of classroom and field instruction supplemented with online education modules delivered through our mobile learning platform prior to the first day of training.
